Starr King Trail (Out&Back)

12:30P- 5:30P

7.2 Miles

After a legendary night in the Cabot cabin Patton and I had a quick 5 mile hike down Cabot before lunch and a meetup in the parking lot of Starr king trailhead. Once Christophe met me there we started away. The weather was lifting from the day before and the day was looking like it would be a great one for a hike. Away we go.DSC_0572

The summit of Starr King. Also on the New England Hundred highest list.

DSC_0579 There was a large group of folks on the summit of Starr king. We decided not to stop for a beer until we got to Waumbek. On we went. The clouds were lifting now and the sun warmed up the cold ridge from Starr king to Waumbek. We made it over in short time.

Back to Starr king for the view. By the time we got back everyone had cleared. We sat here and had a couple of beers. This is where I got the best views of the weekend. These are from the lookout point on Mt. Starr King.

The weekend was fantastic and the hikes were picked perfectly. These two peaks bring me down to 9 more peaks for the completion of my second round of the grid. It was great to meet up with old and new trail friends and I look forward to more hikes in the future. October is just beginning and we closing in.  Enjoy these pictures from the sunset on the way home. Till next hike!DSC_0617
