This week I was able to bring out Lucy on a single day adventure. The origional plan was to hike Liberty and Flume to finish out the section. Last moment I get a message from Jason Beaupre suggesting we hike the entire ridge from Lafayette to Flume. I guess I would get my chance to hike the whole ridge that I did not get 2 weeks ago with Patton on the loop hike. Jason was just finishing Killington and would meet me in 2 hours. I went to Lahoots in Lincoln and got some gear upgrades while I waited. Once we me up and started hiking it was around 11:30.

Right from the beginning we were starting to sweet. I stopped and decided that shirtless was the way to go for now. I would hike shirtless till Greenleaf. It was fantastic.

We stopped for a moment, but Lucy was antsy. We had to get a move on. Lately Lucy will get pushy and even nip at me when she wants to get my attention or when she wants to get moving. It is a bit annoying. After we got moving though she settled down. The summit of Lafayette and the beginning of our ridge walk started around 1:30.

Once on Little Haystack we switched to snow shoes. The trail to Liberty was slightly packed and it was easy going though very wet hike. We got to Liberty but moved past to Flume in order to backtrack to Liberty and Liberty Springs trail to descend.

We had a truck spot at the Basin. It was the first time I actually hiked this trail out. Not a bad day at all. The weather was perfect. It feels good to feel the spring in the air. The hike claimed another 4 mountains for the grid list. Here are some of the totals so far:
Grid
194/576
New England 67
58/67
2015
60
With spring showing up in full this weekend I am expecting one thjng, rain. Who knows what the weather will be and what I will hike because of it. Just glad the snow is melting. Till the next hike…
