Hancock Notch, Cedar Brook, Hancock loop
9:00 – 4:30
9.5 miles
I had a long weekend planned for Abby, the dogs and I. Not so much peak bagging but some time together in the mountains. We made a base at Hancock campground.
For some reason I thought I needed the Hancocks in May so off we went to cross some peaks off of our lists. It was Abby’s first hike of the year so I was excited. I was a great day for a hike with not much heat and a little wind.
The trail was pretty well going till about the junction to the Hancock loop. From there it was spikes all the way. Abby got to use snowshoes for the first time too!
It was a bit chilly on top but the views were lovely.
As always Lucy is motivated by food.
And General Patton becomes suspicious.
It was a great hike with the whole pack. We enjoyed all the sights and kept our own pace with no rush. I can’t wait to get us all out again! Only 17 left for Abby! We returned to our camp and had a fine dinner in celebration of our hiking day. It was a blast.
