Hermit Lake

Tuckerman Ravine trail
5 miles (Out&Back)

After my first full week for the AMC I decided to try a night at hermit lake after the advice of an administrator that picked me up while I was hitchhiking to Pinkham from camp dodge. I have been up Washington a few times now but never from the East. It was time to appreciate a new side of the rock pile.

I was originally planning on being out for a couple of nights.

The trail up to the Cabin is an easy gradual climb. Most folks can do this hike. It has a great pay off as well. Though it was beautiful it was also terribly cold and windy. After my night at hermit lake I returned to the summit to wait out an approaching storm before trying to summit. Can’t wait to get back up there and enjoy the views of Tuckermans Ravine.
