Great gulf trail, Osgood, Parapet ( out&back )
10 miles
Sunday night when I got out of work I packed a bag and hiked to the bluff off of the Great gulf trail. It was a little before dinner when I arrived so I set up my hammock and fly as the rain was expected. I had a quick dinner before the rain came in. It rained most of the night into the early morning. I slept well to the sounds of the storm. When the rain stopped I started hiking. I wanted to hike to Monroe over the Northern Presidential range.

I stopped into the Madison hut still not in service. Sean was inside sanding the kitchen. Looks great!
After the hut I decided that the rain was not worth attempting the rest of my hike for and started to make my way to the Parapet trail and back to Osgood.
The rest of the hike was great and I was back to my tent when the thunderstorms started. There was always another time to bag those peaks. It was still a great day on Madison.
a lot less snow than I would have expected. thanks for the TR and photos
