Vermont 4000 Footers: Camel’s Hump

Camel’s Hump 4081′
Burrows Trail
12:30 – 2:30
4.8 Miles

A short car ride from Mansfield was the Burrows trail head. In the parking lot i met a woman running with her dogs. I asked her about trail conditions. The pack was so great. We only needed microspikes. This meant we could leave the snow shoes behind. I had not done this in a good long time. Grab the bags and start hiking. Not a moment was wasted we hiked quickly to the spur trail that leads to the summit. The trail is well packed and easy to hike.

The views on top were the best I have seen yet today. But it was windy and quite cold. The weather was coming in from the west and we still had a lot of miles to do. Time to go.

We made really good time on the way down and the whole hike took 2 hours to complete. Now on to the toughest hike of the day. The Ellen/Abraham hike over the ridge of Sugarbush.
